In June of 2004 we went to New York city for a seminar put on by the Tea Association of the USA and the Specialty Tea Institute. While at the seminar we attended a tea tasting.
Typically a tea tasting involves several similar types of tea, you wouldn't compare green tea to black tea or oolong. On this day we tasted several teas across the gamut and as a bonus, we got to keep the tea tasting kit. This became the inspiration for the format for our own
Tea Intro tea tasting.
While in New york we visited a few other tea shops. Our favorite was Franchia. The food was delightful and the tea was exquisite, particularly the first pick which sells at $100 for 3 oz. It only took us a few months to finish that tea off. We only drank it on special occasions and Sundays.
